Although the top speed is limited to 42 kmph, it can cover longer distances – up to 122 Km – in a single charge. The Optima HX Li-ion battery can generate motor power up to 550W. Hero provides a 3-year warranty for both the scooter and the battery.

As compared to other electric vehicles in general, the Hero Electric Optima HX has a good visual appeal as well.

2. Ather 450x

The Ather 450X can run up to 116 km in a single charge and can reach a top speed of 80 km/h. The fast charging feature can charge the scooter from 0 to 80% in 3 hours 35 min (that is indeed fast). The battery can generate a motor power of up to 6kW. Ather has been setting up a network of charging stations in Bengaluru and Chennai, and will soon be expanding to other major cities as well.

3. Bajaj Chetak EV

Bajaj Chetak has been an iconic name in the scooter industry. Riding on to that legacy Bajaj has now launched the electric version of Chetak – the Bajaj Chetak EV. It s a sturdy-looking scooter that can ride up to 90 km on a single charge. Charging the Chetak fully can take around 5 hours. The battery can generate a motor power of up to 4kW.

4.TVS iQube

TVS is another big name in the 2-wheeler segment in India, along with the likes of Hero and Bajaj. TVS has now forayed into the electric scooter category with the launch of TVS iQube.  The TVS iQube comes with a range of up to 75 km with a top speed of 78 kmph. The motor can produce an output of around 4.4 kW.  Fully charging the iQube can take around 7 hours.

5.Okinawa iPraise+

Okinawa is another electric scooter manufacturer that was started in India, back in 2015. Their offering, the iPraise+, is an “intelligent” scooter that allows enhanced monitoring of the scooter through its Okinawa Eco application. Some of the digital features include remote locking, navigating to the vehicle, and driver score, among others. The iPraise+ boasts a range of 139 km in a single charge with a top speed of 58 kmph. It can take up to 5 hrs to fully charge the scooter.
